Finalists at the FTA Awards
Uniserve have been named as a finalists in the FTA Logistic Awards this week, ahead of the London awards ceremony being held in December. The group have been nominated in the category of ‘logistics partner of the year’, for the ongoing development of our apprenticeship program, which led to the creation of the world’s first supply chain degree apprenticeship.
FTA is one of the biggest business groups in the UK, supporting, shaping and standing up for efficient logistics.Their membership includes the road, rail, sea and air freight industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
Their awards celebrate supply chain leadership and excellence and recognise leaders who have made a significant contribution to the industry, either as individuals or as businesses.
The FTA announcement becomes the second time in the past couple of weeks that the degree apprenticeship programme has been recognised and shortlisted for a final, as we recently also announced our nomination for the Global Freight Awards.
Uniserve have internally developed our own apprenticeship programme and were proud to have some of our own people amongst the first professionals enrolled to the supply chain degree apprenticeship recently.
Uniserve Group, supported by the Supply Chain Academy and Leeds Trinity University, chaired the employer’s group that have driven and created the standard for the supply chain qualification. The trailblazer group included some of the UK’s biggest supply chain leaders, as well as many SME’s, universities, colleges and supply chain professional bodies.
Paul Stone – Uniserve Group HR Director – commented during the enrolment period “Its great to see our collective efforts coming to fruition for both businesses and individuals. Our difficult goal has always been to bring a much needed standard, backed by qualifications, to a very diverse industry. Through the degree apprenticeship we believe we have made a major step in the right direction”.
The Supply Chain Academy are currently enrolling for January 2019 and beyond, for further information please check out their Degree Apprenticeship page HERE, or contact Alex Mortimer on 01708 259450 or am@supplychainacademy.org.uk.
