Government Outlines UK Swiss Trade Deal

The Department of International Trade have published details of the trade agreement between the UK and Switzerland, which will become applicable should there be a no deal Brexit.
The “continuity agreement” – based on the EU’s existing free trade deal with Switzerland – was agreed in December but finalised last week.
The UK-Switzerland agreement covers:
- Trade in goods – including provisions on rules of origin, preferential tariffs and quotas, and non-tariff measures
- Geographical indications
- Government procurement
In the event of a hard Brexit, the UK needs to replicate around 40 EU trade agreements with more than 70 countries.
You can read more details regarding the deal on the governments website here.
