New Development for Tilbury Port

P&O Ferries announced this week that a £150m river berth is to be built for ferries sailing between the UK and mainland Europe.
The plans for the Thames berth are at Tilbury, where P&O currently run a ferry service between the port and Zeebrugge. This development will now provide the scope for the company to develop further routes.
Under the plans the terminal will be linked directly to the A13 via a new road, and the improved crossing times mean that vehicles on the current service should be able to avoid the M25 morning rush hour.
The new plans should be great news for Uniserve, as a whole host of our Ocean and Road services operate from our Super DC in Tilbury.
Our Essex Super DC’s location is fast becoming a hot-spot for international supply chain services, being a stone’s throw from both Tilbury and London Gateway Ports.
Along with this latest news, we witnessed announcements last year of a new tunnel project from Tilbury to Kent that will drastically reduce our driving times to and from Dover, and the commencement of direct Asian rail-freight services to and from the area.
