Bath Snatch Late Win To Qualify Again

The final games played out at the weekend in what was an enjoyable second season, as official partners of Bath Rugby, for Uniserve Group.
On another exciting final day, Bath snatched the final European Champions Cup place with an epic late 32-31 victory at Leicester Tigers.
Before the final games of the season, Bath were sitting sixth and Sale Sharks were hot on their heels in seventh, just a point behind.
With Sale hosting play-off-bound Gloucester, Bath knew a win with a bonus point would secure the last European Champions Cup place.
Sale finished their game just before Bath, with a nervous back and forth 46-41 victory, that produced an incredible 13 tries. The Sharks were now sitting in sixth spot due to Bath losing with only two minutes left in their game.
However, the Blue, Black and Whites were still pushing for the win and up stepped replacement prop Jacques van Rooyen to cross the line. This now left Rhys Priestland with a chance to kick the match-winning conversion for the extra two points.
With what was virtually the last kick of the game, Priestland was the man for the job and Bath overcame a 14 point deficit in the second half to qualify for next season’s European Champions Cup once again.
