Truckers in Brazil have been on strike for the past week, which has resulted in major disruption to logistics within the country.

While reports suggest that an agreement between hauliers and the Brazilian government was reached yesterday, which could stop the protests for 15 days, it is still not clear whether truck drivers have accepted the deal yet.

Fuel increases by the state controlled oil company, Petrobras, have risen by around 40% over the past 6 months, leading to demonstrations and blockades across the country.

As a result, gas stations are running out of fuel and freight transportation has come to a halt in many regions, with Jet fuel shortages grounding many domestic flights.

The transport strike, coincided with ongoing customs disputes since November, means that delays may be expected for all shipments moving in and out of the country.
