The United States are set to impose additional duty to European Union goods, which will be effective from October 18th. The new tariff, targeted mainly at aircraft, agricultural and food products, will add 25% on more than 150 products.

Included in the duty hike are products such as Italian cheese, French wine, Scotch whisky, British biscuits, Spanish olives and more. The full list can be viewed HERE.

This action is grouped into fifteen sections of tariffs, summarized as follows:

• Section 1
  Countries Affected: France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom
  Tariff: 10% on new airplanes and other aircraft
• Section 2
  Country Affected: United Kingdom
  Tariff: 25% on whiskey, clothing items, blankets
• Section 3
  Country Affected: Germany
  Tariff: 25% on coffee, axes, tools, knives, machinery, microwaves, lenses
• Sections 4 through 15
  Countries Affected: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom
  Tariff: 25% on a variety of dairy, cheese, olive oil, and meat products

The increases follow President Trumps WTO dispute with the EU over aircraft subsidies. The Union is now expected to retaliate by imposing their own punitive tariffs.
