We look forward to welcoming Clare Bottle, CEO of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) to our Felixstowe Mega Distribution Centre (FMDC) on Tuesday 27th February.
As part of her nationwide tour of UK warehouses, our FMDC will host one of the UKWA’s warehouse visits where Clare and her team will mark the 80th anniversary of the UKWA. The ‘2024 The Year of Warehousing’ campaign will be marked by 80 warehouse visits across the UK.
In honour of Clare’s visit on 27th February, the FMDC will be staging a half day Expo. It’ll comprise of a tour of the site, demonstration of two current robotics projects, showcase the recently installed solar panels and take a glimpse of more in the pipeline.
The Expo will also showcase companies within the Uniserve Group, including James Kemball, George Baker, Seafast and BKR Consultants Limited. This will demonstrate the Group’s freight management, container transport and storage services, shipping and customs management offering and how all the services fit together to deliver success for our customers.
During the Expo, we’ll be using a sustainability project to raise funds for Felixstowe Lifeboats and St Elizabeth Hospice, with donations up to £80 being matched by UKWA.
