The first ever One World Cup was fiercely competed for on Monday night, before a last gasp winner secured the win for Uniserve Tilbury over head office rivals – Uniserve Upminster.

Upminster were in the game throughout, until a fortunate rebound off of the post, set up Tilbury’s winner in an enthralling end to end contest.

However, despite their valiant efforts, Upminster lost out to a cruel late goal in what was otherwise a very close 10-0 loss to the new champions. Yes – a Ten-Nil loss!

The game was not without controversy as Upminster Head Coach and Uniserve IT Platform Director – Steve Davies – reflects “At least nine of their goals were offside and we should have had a penalty. If the decisions had gone for us, it could easily have been us lifting the trophy.”

“That said, I take full responsibility for the loss. Refereeing decisions aside, it boils down to my team selection – Next time I will be picking the girls instead!”
