PM – Northern Ireland Can Bin Customs Forms

Since Brexit was delayed for a third time and the UK switched its focus to a December 12th General Election, there has been little news to report on developments with the EU.
However, one piece of significant news that has caught our attention was the statement made by Prime Minister Boris Johnson regarding his withdrawal agreement.
Johnson recently told Northern Ireland businesses they can put customs declarations forms “in the bin” because there will be “no barriers of any kind” to trade crossing the Irish Sea.
He also suggested that his own Brexit Secretary – Stephen Barclay – had been wrong to say goods between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK would face checks under his deal.
The Prime Minister’s withdrawal agreement has been passed in principle by parliament but the outcome of the election will determine whether the motion is carried forward.
The Irish situation, in the event of Brexit, is being monitored closely by Uniserve as we continue to provide our daily services to and from both Northern and Southern Ireland.
Our customers benefit from same day collections and deliveries with a 24 hour express service and could otherwise be hindered by any unnecessary checks.
The video of Mr Johnson’s statement was posted to twitter and can be seen below:
