Uniserve demonstrated a little slice of Swiss efficiency in Southern China this week after a visit from a Victorinox contingent that included their Chief Quality Officer (CQO) – Robert Elsener.

Robert’s family name has an important history within the company, which dates back to its beginnings. Founder, Karl Elsener, was the first to produce the ‘swiss army knife’ in 1891.

These days the global company’s products include household and army knives, luggage and accessories, watches and fragrances.

The party, which also included CW Wang, David Chow, Michelle Xie and Andy Liu from Victorinox Dongguan, were gathered for a routine visit to our facility in Yantian. Our Southern China fulfilment centre is central to the integrated supply chain solutions we provide them.

Our visitors were suitably impressed with what they found, particularly our humidity control system, which is a very important factor when storing Victorinox products.

UniOcean Commercial Director – Iain Brymer – commented “Humidity in China is often above 90% and if not controlled this can lead to moisture, mold and damage. On the day of the visit outdoor humidity was recorded at 97%, but did not rise above 55% throughout our facility”.

Our partnership with Victorinox forms part of a global supply chain efficiency program, which is supported by our Global Distribution Centers in Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Tilbury, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Toronto and New York.
