New Tilbury RoRo Terminal Approved
According to various reports, the building of a new £150 million pound ro-ro terminal has been agreed near to Tilbury port, which is expected to be operational next year.
The ‘Tilbury2’ project is expected to bring much needed port capacity for businesses trading with Europe and may provide an alternative solution to Dover post Brexit.
Construction on the new terminal is due to commence within a few weeks and the plans include a new road link to the A13.
The announcement is great news for Uniserve and its customers, as our main UK distribution centre in Tilbury is little more than a stone’s throw away from the new site.
Last year, the area was boosted with new export and import rail services launched to and from China and the announcement of a new tunnel crossing the Thames. With the emergence of nearby London Gateway port, Tilbury is fast becoming the centre of UK logistics.
