Miss Brexit Presents at Academy

Renowned Brexit expert, Allie Renison from the Institute of Directors (IoD,) will speak with business leaders at a thought leadership dinner to be held at the Supply Chain Academy’s Headquarters, Upminster Court on Thursday 5 October.
Allie Renison, fondly known as ‘Miss Brexit’ by many in the UK media, will share the platform with our very own Gary Cobbing, Commercial Director for the Uniserve Group.
Allie says “As the talks reach deadlock, our members want the Government to secure a transition arrangement as soon as possible. The Government has a window of opportunity from now until next summer – at the latest – to make progress on securing interim arrangements,”
“EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier suggested Brussels would be open to transition “if the UK should so request” and the UK Government has been most vocal on this of late. It may herald the possibility that addressing this business-critical issue may not be so far off.”
As Head of Europe & Trade Policy for the IoD, Allie will explain what the IoD is doing to obtain clarity and certainty from the government and will provide advice on best practice for businesses to maximise global trade.
Along with Gary, she will also provide an update on the potential impact of Brexit negotiations on customs and VAT, plus an in-depth look at how businesses in the East of England can access global trade opportunities.
Gary added “To gain competitive advantage in this time of uncertainty, it is good for business leaders to gain business intelligence on where the Government are with the Brexit negotiations and unlock hidden gems for global trade efficiency and cost reduction for the bottom line, ”
For information on how to attend the event, or to find out more about the Supply Chain Academy’s unique range of business led open and bespoke courses, please call 01708 259450 or email info@supplychainacademy.org.uk. Non IoD members are welcome to attend.
