French Strike On Tuesday 7th March

The inter-union group, which represents several major unions in France, has called for another day of strikes and demonstrations on
Tuesday, March 7, 2023. This is expected to cause significant disruption to public transport in the Paris region and beyond. The four main unions at the SNCF, which is the French national railway, have also called for a strike on this day. The CGT Cheminots, SUD Rail, CFDT Cheminots, and UNSA Ferroviaire are united in their opposition to the pension reform.
Similarly, the major unions representing the RATP, which is the public transport operator in the Paris region, are also calling for strikes and demonstrations on March 7. The RATP inter-union group is even calling for a renewable strike. The proposed reforms have been met with widespread opposition in France, with recent polls showing that 70% of the French public are against the changes.
These strikes and demonstrations are likely to cause disruption to public transport services in the Paris region and beyond.
The protests and strikes in France are part of a wider campaign about pay, pensions, job security, and redundancy terms.
