FMDC Infrastructure Project Wins Prestigious UKWA Excellence Award

Celebrations were in full swing on Tuesday (28th June), as it was announced at UKWA’s (United Kingdom Warehousing Association) Annual Awards Ceremony in London, that Uniserve’s FMDC (Felixstowe Mega Distribution Centre) infrastructure project had won one of its prestigious Industry Excellence Awards.
The BRC accredited, bonded FMDC, which stands on a 28 acre site, alongside the A14, was recognised and given this accolade for both innovation and a requirement to meet with the ever changing market demands.
In attendance and on collecting the award, Ignas Saknaitis, the FMDC’s General Manager said “It has been a pleasure to be able to accept this award on behalf of Uniserve and the great number of people that made this project a success”.
On the award and what it means for the FMDC, Uniserve’s Warehouse & Transport Director, David Barry said “What great recognition for the project and operational teams that were able to capture the Uniserve vision and turn it into a reality. We are hugely proud of the award and what the facility means to our customers, the local community and now our industry!”.
Uniserve have had an outstanding year and will add this award to an ever growing list of accolades and achievements, to include ‘Number 1 Logistics Service Provider’, beating the likes of Amazon to the top spot and ‘Public Sector Supply Chain Excellence Award’, for supplying vital medical equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
