Ellerman Add Hong Kong West Bound Route To Their Ever Growing List Of Sea Freight Services

Ellerman City Lines are pleased to announce the launch of their Hong Kong West Bound Sea Freight service.
The service, which was launched earlier this month (June) is already being utilised to transfer a stock of empty UniOcean Lines 40ft HQ containers to Hong Kong’s River Trade Terminal in Tuen Mun, and will see empty equipment continually replenished.
The twice a week service will see cargo from Hong Kong being moved by feeder from the River Trade Terminal to Da Chan Bay in Shenzhen.
With a distance of 25 km, the transit time to Da Chan Bay from the terminal is only a matter of a few hours.
Ellerman’s inaugural voyage of cargo has now since been loaded on to the Mother Vessel, Buxhansa at Da Chan Bay, which is estimated to arrive in the UK on the 4th July, 2022.
The transit time from Hong Kong to Tilbury is around 26 days (but of course this is subject to the usual deviations).
Transit times from the North West Continent (NWC) ports of Zeebrugge (ZEE), Antwerp (ANR) and Rotterdam (RTM) will add a further 5 – 7 days and will be fed by a feeder from Tilbury.
With Hong Kong forming part of China’s ‘Greater Bay Area’ economic and development initiative, it is felt that such services will capitalise on Hong Kong’s strengths, to better serve the country’s needs.
The ‘Greater Bay Area’ consists of the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao and 9 municipalities, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing in the Guangdong Province, equating to a total area of around 56,000 km2.
Uniserve’s Regional Global Manager of the Far East & South East Asia, Iain Brymer said “Personally, I’ve always been immensely proud of Hong Kong, as Hong Kong still ranks in the world’s top 10 busiest container ports. Our decision to include Hong Kong as one of our origin ports was really a no-brainer, as Hong Kong has always been a massively important hub for the Uniserve Group, and we want to continue that legacy by offering clients a robust, cost-effective and solid platform”.
