COVID-19: Warehousing & Supply to UK Supermarkets
The line between disorder and order lies in logistics.
(Sun Tzu)
Recognised as key workers under UK’s COVID-19 relief efforts, the Uniserve team are committed to continuing the delivery of goods around the globe and the UK under these unprecedented times.
The strategic lock down measures adopted by the UK Government have resulted in a pattern of “panic buying” for food and essential household supplies. Images of empty shelves across supermarket stores are circulating the Internet and have in turn sparked fears of food shortages.
In recent years, many major supermarkets have resorted to “just in time” manufacturing tactics designed to omit warehousing storage & the costs associated with it. Under the current circumstances, the need to store goods has increased significantly as it secures a steady supply of goods to replenish empty shelves. Major supermarkets including some of our own clients have shared their confidence that with the support of supply chain logistics & warehousing solutions, they are able to cope with increased demand and replenish stock.
The industry is seeing a significant increase in the need for warehousing space to help support the flow of supply to UK supermarkets. Uniserve offers in excess of 2 million square feet of warehousing facilities, supported by over 600 of our own technologically advanced and well maintained group vehicles- all dedicated to keeping supply chains including food and essential goods in motion while the nation remains under lock down.
Uniserve are key workers who are proud to be supporting the Department of Health & Social Care and the NHS with their COVID-19 relief efforts.
