Asian E-commerce Opens Up

by | May 17, 2017

Uniserve’s e-commerce logistics portfolio received a massive boost this week, with the strengthening of one of our key networks across China, Hong Kong and South East Asia.

For many years, our multi-award winning airfreight products, to and from Asia, have been developed with our long term partner On Time Logistics.

Last week, Chinese courier company YTO Express Group finalised their much anticipated purchase of a major majority shareholding in On Time, providing us with integration into one of the largest logistic networks across Asia.

YTO are a huge courier business and their experience and infrastructure within the e-commerce logistics market, will provide the perfect platform for our customers to take advantage of a  rapidly developing consumer market in the Far East.

The established executive and operational teams of On Time will continue to develop the business with us and there  will be no changes to the airfreight services we are recognised for and you have come to rely on, but over time we expect to be able to provide an unmatched e-commerce offering in the China market and surrounding regions.

Leighton Bonnett, Uniserve’s Airfreight Director said of the news “We are delighted with this outcome and can see significant advantages down the line for our e-commerce and airfreight clients. With On Time being a publicly listed company the purchase of shares by a major courier business can only strengthen our overall service and client offering.

We believe the combination of our industry leading airfreight services and YTO’s network and e-commerce offerings is a win-win situation for our customer base wanting to sell in Asia.

If you would like further information regarding this development, or would like to find out more about how our airfreight and e-commerce products can benefit your business, then please email info@ugroup.co.uk or call 01708 259400.
