Graduate Lands In Singapore
Uniserve Group Graduate Management Trainee – Lauren Liddell – has entered the last leg of her 15 month induction program, after touching down in Singapore last month to start her 3 month overseas placement.
The scheme has been extremely successful over recent years, resulting in a number of former management graduates securing important positions around the Group.
Lauren will also be visiting Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and China during her time in Asia, but her immediate focus in Singapore is to gain first hand experience of Uniserve’s ‘Global Presence’ and to understand the roles of our Regional General Management team.
The scheme takes exceptional candidates and introduces them to a wider knowledge of the complexities within the logistics and supply chain industry, while ensuring they understand the intelligent solutions Uniserve has implemented to excel in this challenging industry.
In addition to building a wide knowledge base, the graduate management scheme accelerates confidence and personal development through skills, including networking, communication, organisation and commercial techniques. The overseas placement is usually the final part of the process, although it is arguably the most important, and focuses on the candidate gaining essential life skills.
Lauren joined Uniserve Group in August 2016 and will immediately be putting to use some of the experience gained in her first 12 months, as during her travels she will be assisting in delivering One World training to our overseas partners.
One World is our internally developed, highly sophisticated, global supply chain management platform, which is intelligently helping to manage many of today’s global brands.
Commenting on her opportunity, Lauren said “I have really enjoyed this experience so far, which has led me to meet many different people from a wide range of businesses and cultures. Understanding the importance of building relationships and learning to deliver solutions that match, or preferably exceed, expectations, has been central to the ethos throughout”.
Staff development and training have always been at the forefront of Uniserve Group values. This is demonstrated through a commitment to improving the industry as a whole, including the development of the world’s first Supply Chain Management Degree Apprenticeship, in conjunction with the Group owned Supply Chain Academy and CP Training.
