Luck of the Ireland

Uniserve Seafreight Director Steve Ireland, is gaining a reputation as a major trophy magnet when it comes to awards, as the Lloyds List Global Awards ‘Containership Operator of the Year’ was presented to APL last week.
Steve was a guest at APL’s table during the event and can be seen above holding the trophy, along with APL’s CEO – Nicholas Santini (left), Commercial Cluster Head – Maurice Mckeating (near right) and UK Head of Trade & Sales – Jodie Holmes (far right).
Steve was also sitting next to our very own Leighton Bonnett, when he collected Uniserve’s recording breaking fifth airfreight honour at the BIFA Awards earlier this year, and personally collected the ‘Seafreight Solutions Provider of the Year Award’ for Uniserve, at the Global Freight Awards, a few weeks earlier.

For the half year ended on 30 June 2017, APL recorded a revenue of US$2.77 billion, 29% higher than the same period last year, and volumes grew 4% to almost 2.5 million TEU.
Joining the Ocean Alliance as part of the CMA CGM Group was described as a game-changer. Adding the 38 services of the alliance boosted a wide market coverage to 110 services in total.
Steve commented “Congratulations to APL on their achievement, it’s great to see positive news after what has been a difficult few years for steamship companies. We very much look forward to continuing to strengthen our strategic alliance with them.”
