Bangladesh Security Ruling
A new ruling by the European Union has led to an increase in security for all flights from Bangladesh, which has resulted in additional costs being imposed by all airlines.
Security procedures for traffic moving into the EU were stepped up after recent terrorist alerts and now state that all freight leaving Bangladesh needs to be screened twice with a two layered screening process.
These additional measures have led to a considerable amount of additional manpower costs being incurred by airlines, which has inevitably resulted in carriers introducing additional screening costs on all cargo of $0.12/kg, effective immediately.
A statement from Emirates Sky Cargo states: “This measure has been introduced to support Bangladeshi exporters, and all customers, to ensure the safety and standard of all cargo carried”.
Should you require any further information regarding the additional costs applicable to all importers, then please contact your local Uniserve representative or email info@ugroup.co.uk.
