HK Fuel Surcharge Returns
Hong Kong’s Civil Aviation Department has given the green light for airlines to implement Fuel Surcharge again on airfreight shipments from the region.
Air Freight fuel surcharge from Hong Kong was temporarily suspended early last year when oil prices dropped significantly. However, the oil price has increased by almost 80% from January 2016 to January 2017 which has impacted the aviation industry.
The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) in Hong Kong is the body responsible for the regulation of all airlines and flight services for aircraft operating in and out of Hong Kong International Airport.
The surcharge effective from 1st April 2017 will be: HKD 0.70 per/kilo (based on chargeable weight and air waybill issue date).
The surcharge will reportedly be applied by most, if not all, airlines servicing the region, therefore we will have no alternative but to pass the charges on to our customers at cost when applied.
Uniserve are the current BIFA airfreight award winners, receiving the accolade for a record breaking fifth time this year and as a nominated master loader from Hong Kong we offer a range of daily and economy airfreight services.
For more information on the surcharge, or our airfreight services from Hong Kong, please email info@ugroup.co.uk, or contact your local Uniserve representative.
