Storm Stella Impacts USA

by | Mar 14, 2017

Storm Stella has pounded the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast USA early on Tuesday, resulting in flight cancellations, closures, power outages and warnings from city and state officials to stay off the roads.

The US National Weather Service has issued blizzard warnings for parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

The storm is now expected to dump 12 to 18 inches of snow on the New York City area with wind gusts of up to 55 mph. Weather service’s near Philadelphia have called the storm “life-threatening” and warned people to “shelter in place.” Coastal flood warnings have also been in effect from Massachusetts to Delaware.

The storm is bringing chaos to transport as reportedly more than 5,000 flights have been cancelled, including almost 3,000 from New York’s main airports. Flights to the area have also been cancelled including some flights from London.

We will notify any customers that have shipments affected by the storm. However, should you require any further information then please contact your local Uniserve representative.
