With a need to execute 24,000 full truckloads (FTLs) annually, while maintaining cost efficiency, the retailer sought innovative transport solutions to align with their sustainability goals.
Uniserve has played a pivotal role in helping the retailer achieve a fossil fuel-free domestic transport system in the UK. By deploying advanced solutions such as HVO100 renewable fuel and Longer Semi-Trailers (LSTs).

Container shipping braces for volatility as Red Sea routes beckon
The Houthis has recently pledged to limit any further attacks to vessels flagged as Israeli or “wholly owned by Israeli individuals or entities” and would also end threats against Israeli ships “upon the full implementation of all phases” in the three-phase Gaza agreement.
The announcement comes after the agreed Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the released of the crew of the Galaxy Leader, a carrier they seized on 19th November 2023.

Safety and Security Declarations Mandatory from 31st Jan
Effective from 31st January 2025, all goods imported from any country (both EU & non-EU) via road services into the UK will require a Safety and Security Declaration (SSD), also known as an Entry Summary Declaration (ENS).
What is Safety & Security Declaration (SSD)?
The SSD provides pre-arrival information about goods entering the UK, helping customs authorities assess risks and enhance border security.

Our latest market udpate
In January, the second US East Coast Port Strike has been averted as a tentative six-year contract is agreed. Global ocean freight is projected to see an 8% increase in capacity against a 3% increase in demand in 2025. This disparity is likely to ease some volatility, although fluctuations may still occur due to unexpected disruptions.
