Uniserve donates essential items to Ukraine

Mar 7, 2022 | Article, News, Ukraine

As you know, the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine has forced thousands of citizens to flee the country for their own safety. Most people have only been able to take minimal essentials as they attempt to cross into neighbouring countries, with many losing vital items such as clothing, food and medicines.

In response, Uniserve colleagues have pulled together to donate much-needed supplies to the families fleeing the conflict, filling half of our Tilbury office in under two days.

The donation drive was organised by Anna Lenik, Operations Manager at Tilbury, who wrote to colleagues to ask for help. Ian Green, our Domestic Freight Manager, arranged delivery of the goods on 1st March to The White Eagle – a Polish social club in London – who are distributing donations to Ukraine.

Meanwhile Steve Ireland, Seafreight Director, donated £1,000 on behalf of Uniserve, which was used to order vital items such as first aid kits and baby food.

We’d like to thank our compassionate and conscientious team for their efforts, and our thoughts remain with the people of Ukraine.
