Hong Kong Flights Cancelled as 130 Pilots are Quarantined
Following previously-reported Covid disruption in Hong Kong, Uniserve has now been notified that 130 Cathay Pacific cargo pilots are to be quarantined for 21 days.
Carrie Lam, the city’s Chief Executive, made the announcement this morning, after three pilots tested positive upon re-entering the region via Frankfurt, Germany. The decision was taken to quarantine all aviation personnel who stayed at the same hotel as the three pilots.
As a result, Cathay has begun to cancel flights, and we foresee that there will be reduced capacity and potential increases on already high air freight pricing during this time.
While this will put additional strain to already struggling supply chains, our focus remains on finding viable alternatives for our customers. We encourage you to contact your Customer Development Manager to discuss any concerns you may have, or get in touch with us here.
