Weekend to indicate global containment efforts-coronavirus

As the coronavirus death toll continues to rise, economic distortions follow not far behind. The battle against the epidemic continues and is not short of its’ challenges.
China’s priority now is to ensure the epidemic is contained with no certainty of when this may be. At the start of the week the Chinese Government have announced a further extension of Chinese New Year Holidays until the 9th February. The holidays have been extended further to 13th February in the Hubei Province, and to 17th February in Wenzhou.
Blank sailings have begun and can be expected throughout February, a natural consequence of the closures as the containment precautions continue. Further alterations are being announced for Mainland China flights. Clients are advised to contact their account managers in reference to revised schedules and timeframes for expected arrivals.
As with historic epidemics, there is sure to be a strong recovery once the virus is stopped and is under control. Uniserve are continuously monitoring the situation, keeping in close contact with our partners in China. We will continue to share updates as the situation develops.
