Coronavirus outbreak- a test for Global Trade & Economy

The UK is now one of the first countries outside of China to have a prototype specific laboratory test for coronavirus in aid of containing and stopping the outbreak from spreading further.
The UK government has assigned a team of public health experts in Heathrow to support anyone travelling in from China who feels unwell. This is in addition to medical staff who are already permanently in place at all UK airports.
A countrywide shut down has been confirmed in China, with closures extending through to 9th February. The outbreak has had a significant impact on worldwide trade and supply chains, forcing multinational companies to make hard decisions based on limited information. Last week the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the outbreak a public health emergency stating that there are still many undefined areas including severity, transmission and treatment of the novel virus.
Many global businesses are taking their cues from WHO to support the containment measures, suspending business and product travel to and from mainland China. The outbreak is testing the entire global economy system by placing an unexpected and additional strain on a soon to come boom in demand.
Uniserve continue to monitor the situation working closely with our Global partners on predicted demand created by order delays. Our team are developing solutions to support our clients and their needs.
