More airlines suspend flights to mainland China

United Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and Cargolux have joined British Airways in suspending flights in to mainland China as the Coronavirus continues to spread. The outbreak has now reached 16 countries with 7700 cases reported, resulting in 170 deaths in China.
According to the Chinese Central Government notice issue, all companies have been requested to extend the Lunar New Year holiday, resuming work on the 3rd February. Some regional authorities have extended the holiday further with most expecting a return to work on the 10th February. Uniserve are keeping a close eye and will continue with updates as they arise.
The Novel Coronavirus has overshadowed the traditional celebrations with cancellations on major public firework events as a containment precaution.
The Uniserve team are monitoring the situation closely, keeping in close contact with our partners in China. Delays in shipments and manufacturing are to be expected, companies are encouraged to get in touch and review expected timeframes. Uniserve are continuously looking at all contingency plans designed to address our clients’ needs.
