World Largest Containership Calls Felixstowe

The latest in the series of world’s largest container ship has docked in the UK with over 200 containers onboard for Uniserve customers.
The MSC Gulsun is now reported to be the largest in the world and can carry 23,756 20 foot containers in rows of 24 across. This is around 2,000 more than the OOCL Hong Kong, the previously reported record holder back in 2017.
The 400m vessel departed the Far East in July and, after a short delay due to high winds in Rotterdam, made the short trip overnight to Felixstowe, arriving Friday morning in the UK.
At 1312 feet, the vessel is approximately the same length as 4 football pitches and is longer than the Empire State Building is high. MSC report that the vessel could theoretically carry 47,512 cars, 2.94 million washing machines or 386 million pairs of shoes.
The steamship line also report that with a UN IMO approved hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) installed, the vessel has the lowest carbon footprint by design.
Uniserve continue to represent UniOcean Lines, the 21st century global carrier that provide the largest service schedule available in the market.
