Uniserve’s FMDC Infrastructure Project Shortlisted For UKWA Excellence Award

Recognition was given to Uniserve’s FMDC (Felixstowe Mega Distribution Centre) infrastructure project this week, as it was announced that the UKWA (United Kingdom Warehousing Association) had shortlisted the project for one of its many prestigious, annual Excellence Awards.
The awards, which will take place on the 28th June in London, will announce the winner of the UKWA infrastructure project category, for which Uniserve is a finalist.
The BRC accredited, bonded FMDC, which stands on a 28 acre site, alongside the A14, was recognised and given this accolade for both innovation and a requirement to meet with the ever changing market demands.
It was also noted that the FMDC project was completed whilst the logistics industry was facing some of its biggest challenges to date, to include the global COVID-19 pandemic.
On the nomination, Uniserve’s Warehouse & Transport Director, David Barry said “FMDC has always made complete sense to Uniserve, it’s great to see that UKWA and the industry recognise how innovative and customer focused the FMDC is. It’s a great testament to the team at the FMDC that we have been able to help so many customers in a relatively short time frame”.
