UK Border Force Strike

Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) has announced that UK Border Force staff are going to strike for eight days between 23rd to 31st December, after rejecting a 2% salary offer increase.
The result of the planned industrial actions will see 1,000 Border Force staff strike at Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Gatwick, Heathrow (terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5) and Manchester airports, as well as the port of Newhaven.
Despite a contingency plan of deploying the UK army to mitigate the staff walkout, serve disruption is likely to affect the UK airports mentioned above, rail and maritime ports and ports in Calais, Coquelles and Dunkirk.
At Uniserve we will be monitoring the situation closely and are committed to keeping our customers fully informed of the situation and where possible, devising solutions to help keep disruption to supply chains to a minimum.
