Transport Secretary Visits Us

by | Jan 16, 2017

Last Friday we were one of the stops for Transport Secretary Chris Grayling when he visited our Chepstow operation along with other dignitaries including Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns.

The visit was part of an announcement to half the toll prices on the Severn crossings and the contingent met with our Logistics Director Peter Keates and his staff to discuss the impact on the local logistics sector.

Peter commented on local TV “while he would like to see the reductions go further, they go a long way to us in South Wales as it makes up 7 or 10% of our transport costs”. The reductions should be introduced by late 2017/early 2018 in a scheme that should see the bridges returning to public ownership.

Through our solely owned group transport division, Zenith Logistics, we have always had a strong presence in Chepstow, South Wales and the South West. Being at the centre of logistics in this region is why the Transport Secretary chose to meet our Zenith team to discuss the issue.

Zenith now offer intelligent supply chain solutions from 16 locations across the UK, operating a technologically advanced group transport fleet of over 500 vehicles.
