Industrial strike action planned at Heathrow airport

Staff at 2 of Heathrow’s ground handlers, dnata and Menzies, are set to take part in three days of strike action later this month over a pay dispute.
Flight cancellations expected:
The union representing the workers, Unite, has warned that the planned strike action starting on November 18 and running to November 21 will cause “disruption, cancellation and delays” to flights operating from terminals 2, 3 and 4.
The strike action involves approximately 700 workers employed by dnata and Menzies, covering a variety of roles, including ground-handling, airside transport and cargo.
Airlines affected:
Airlines which are likely to be affected include; Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and Qatar Airways (who have increased their flight numbers in advance of the World Cup starting that weekend).
Likelihood of the strike going ahead:
Both dnata and Menzies continue to negotiate with the union to avoid the action.
