Food bank donation organised by employees at Uniserve’s Tilbury operations

At a time when those in the community are struggling more than ever, Uniserve’s teams at our Tilbury operation have rallied and co-ordinated a large scale food donation.
In total, an impressive 383.8kg of food donations was collected, ranging from tinned food, biscuits and cereal to baby food, with all the goods package and delivered to the Thurrock Foodbank.
Thurrock foodbank was set up in 2012 as an initiative of the local churches in the borough. Since then the foodbank has grown and has 10 centres spread across the borough and open from Tuesday to Saturday to provide the help that those in food crisis need.
Sandra Sawle, Thurrock Food Bank Volunteer, commented:
“Thank you to everyone at Uniserve’s Tilbury operations for the amazing 383.8kg donation, which they very kindly delivered to Thurrock Foodbank warehouse. We are humbled when a company like Uniserve show such kindness and support to those in their community who are struggling. A true example of social care / responsibility in action”
Well done to the team for all your efforts and generosity to help those in need.
