China Security Raised For Exhibition

Oct 30, 2018 | News

Security at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport has been temporarily increased as thousands of visitors, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, are due to attend next week’s China International Import Expo Fair.

The exhibition is due to start on 5th November and airfreight security is already being affected to and from the region. Cargo considered ‘out of gauge’, or too big to be screened, will not be accepted during the period and any chemical related products are being routed to alternative airports, such as Zhengzhou or Wuhan.

The fair, being held at Shanghai’s National Exhibition Centre, is the first of its kind and is aimed at promoting trade with countries looking to export to China. With a population of 1.3 billion, China is a vast market and expect to import products and services worth more than ten trillion dollars over the next five years.

Uniserve will be represented  by UniAir partners – On Time Logistics – who will have a stand at the exhibition.

For more information on potential delays caused by the security issues please contact your local Uniserve representative. To find our more about Uniserve’s extensive range of airfreight services throughout Asia, please call 01375 856060 or email info@ugroup.co.uk.
