European road freight likely to be impacted over French public holidays in May
During the French public holidays in May, we would like to inform you of potential disruptions in European road freight imports and exports from France. These holidays may impact the normal flow of shipments resulting in some delays.
France will be observing Victory Day on Wednesday, 8th May and Ascension Day on Thursday, 9th May, coupled with businesses across France taking a bridging day on Friday, 10th May.
As part of the regulations surrounding bank holidays, there will be a driving ban in place from 22:00 hrs the day before the bank holiday until 22:00 hrs on the day of the bank holiday. This driving ban will affect the movement of all freight on the roads, potentially causing delays in some services.
To minimise any disruptions to your operations, we recommend our customers plan their shipments accordingly, taking into account restricted driving hours during these bank holidays.
Our operations team is working tirelessly to mitigate any potential delays and ensure the continued efficiency across supply chain operations.
If you would like to speak to us in preparation for the bank holidays, please contact our UniEurope team today at unieuropecommercial@ugroup.co.uk.
