More than 40 participants attended a Trailblazer Group meeting last month (April 26), which was held and chaired by the Universe Group at the Supply Chain Academy in Upminster.
Attendees came from a broad cross section of business, higher education and professional bodies, which continued to produce a perfectly balanced approach to the development of the Supply Chain Leadership Degree Apprenticeship.
The meeting saw the presentation of the final draft of their proposals for the standard. Some lively debate took place, as the group discussed and refined the standard before submission to the Institute For Apprenticeships this month.
The Supply Chain Academy’s Paul Stone, who chaired the meeting, commented “It’s great to see so many people committing their own time to this, which is ultimately for the benefit of the industry as a whole.  We saw top retail brands, exporters, importers, freight forwarders, universities, training organisations and supply chain specialists, all come together to contribute to this exciting project.”
The first-of-its-kind degree apprenticeship is currently on course to be ready for September this year. While there was a strong contingent that attended the meeting, there are over one hundred organisations involved in the overall process, which has been led and chaired by the Uniserve Group.
